Huntington Coffee Table Album Operation Smile Donation

I know I'm falling behind in my posts from Convention.....I'm still catching up with physical therapy and surgical appointments. Update...today, I was told to hold off my hip surgery set in August...my broken wrist and shoulder needs attention first, so I will have surgery on my shoulder first so that and my wrist can heal, then I will be ready for 6-8 weeks on crutches with the hip surgery.    Any..who...here is a post on the oohs and awes received at convention....the Huntington Coffee Table Album.

So this how this project came together....first...I found this awesome handle at Hobby Lobby about 6 months ago...what to do with this?  When  received the package from Corp, I knew right then to put the handle on the new My Creations Kraft 3 Ring Album.
I thought to make an album with the flowers on the cover...but that wouldn't do....Instead of making a few projects with the Huntington line, I wanted to add it all to ONE.  The cover would get ruined if the embellishments were placed on the cover.  So the thinking cap went on.
I'll make a base/holder for the album that can be displayed all the time anywhere :).  I'll post in a few days how to make the holder for the album.  Blonde moment here...I can't find my cheat sheet, lol, with the measurements.
The flowers came from inspiration in my home.  I have these cute little daisy flower pots on my end tables in my living room....and that's how that came to be.  I cut the flowers with the Art Philosophy cartridge...scored each petal several times with a stylist and sanded away, inking the edges as I go with Barn Red, my FAVORITE color ever!!!!
I popped up some of the flowers, and layered some of the them...and don't forget the BLING....the new Mini Medley Accents Collection "Rosewood".  I love this collection...its full of flourishes, metal rimmed pearl badge buttons, copper studs and rhinestone clusters and buttons!  And.....the new Huntington Assortment is AMAZING!!!!  The canvas pieces and wood buttons rock!  You can glue them and pop them up, either way they're the best.
Oh, Oh...and the new My Creations Burlap Drawstring Bags.....to die for!  You can cut the back side off and adhere them to any project ...oh and don't forget you can roll the top down and add the new Jute Ribbon to cover the folds.
I covered the album with Huntington Paper Packet and hand stitched the zig-zag with the new Foam Mat and Stitch Guide.
Plain Jane here, simply because it will be handled a lot...and because this project was being donated I didn't want it to be too personal.  You could still put your family name and a picture on the front.
Here are pictures of the inside of the albums....

  4. Everytime I see something like this, I think of you telling me, "I'm not a scrapbooker" and I just want to reach out and smack you! LOL I know the outside is right up your alley, but the inside is so beautiful, too. Just gorgeous!

  5. OMG! This is the most stunning work of art that I've seen from the new catalog! I love the handle, the flowers-- everything!

Sorry to hear about your medical issues:( I haven't called back b/c I'm dealing with mine. I've been in PT since Jan. It's pretty bad if your insurance covers over 6 months of PT! I'm about 50% better, but still have pain, mostly headaches and severe neck pain. Every day I wake up and say-- I'm calling Tamara back today, then work starts and later the pain.

I feel for you! So sorry. Maureen

  7. Hi Tamara, It was LOVE at first sight, my creative friend! I saw this piece in the Art Gallery and fell in love with it. You are truly and amazing artist. I wanted to bid on others, but this was the one I thought I could get home in my luggage :o) Your presentation was wonderful. Huntington is my favorite of the new papers and what you did with it made it truly spectacular and worth every penny of my donation. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
