Sparkle and Shine Album

You can have one of these mini albums for your 2013 Christmas Memories.  Kits will be available starting this Friday for $25.00, plus shipping. ONLY 5 KITS LEFT.

I really enjoyed making this album and it comes together in about 30 minutes.
This is the perfect gift for friends and family and even for yourself :)
The cover is put together using the B&T paper from the Sparkle and Shine paper line and dimensional elements.
Pages 1 and 2 hold three to four pictures.
Bring on the bling and baker's twine to spruce up this page.
This photo cover also opens up and is held down with a small piece of velcro.
......more bling :)
Next...you will repeat your steps for pages 3 and 4.
This is a view of the back of the album and below is the front.
GET ONE TODAY.....I only have 2 kits left!

CTMH Haunted House

As promised at the Album Retreat I have posted a ton of pictures if the CTMH Haunted House created for the retreat contest. This project was done using all CTMH product and the following keys from the Artbooking Cartridge... pages 54, 55, 70, 71, 72 and 73...a few stamped images and 1 key from the Artiste Cartridge. Like or leave a comment on my facebook business page  https://www.facebook.com/tamraspapercreations AND as promised I will be sharing the directions on how to make the house....soon! I am prepping for a Holiday Workshop and as soon as I'm done....I'll be creating a Christmas House version and that's when I'll share....with step-by-step directions. Thanks for your patience.
House Front.
The red brick sidewalk was done by cutting itty bitty rectangles out of the hunting BT paper distressing the edges in black and gluing them down on a piece of colonial white cardstock then added to the project.
The front doors open and are closed with Velcro dots behind the house number 1032...pretty clever Halloween (October 31 or 10-31).  I added spider webs, pumpkins, vines, leaves and cats to the front for more bling.
This is down the right side....I stamped a light post, embossed it added some pumpkins and a kitty cat.  I Luv the beware sign on the house with the owl sitting on top.
The shingles were made with the black and silver glitter paper, the scallop punch and black archival ink.

Complete side view.
Here you can see the detail of the pumpkins with the vines, leaves, curls on the pumpkins and the broom...stamped image and created with bakers twine.
The fence is cut and layered 3 times so it would be sturdy.  I only use liquid glass for all my projects.  I suggested it to everyone.  I teach all that attend my classes how to use it.  The grave yard was fun.  The orange looking stuff is paper I made out of our own paper by placing cut up pieces in a blender with a bit of water....then you squeeze out the water and add mod podge and shape the paper for covering...o9nce dry add it to project.
Here is a partial view of the back of the house...the main idea is to keep the project flowing.
Back view.
Left side view.   Tree was a sketch and drawn out of black and brown glitter papers and fussy cut.
No haunted house is complete without a mummy.
The shingles look so real and the window glass is plastic that was colored with yellow and orange markers.
I just love how all these cuts cluster together and create such a lovely project.
The actual house is 5 layers thick...so it takes 25 sheets of paper to make the house.  You need this so that it is sturdy enough to stand up and to be decorated.

Thanks for stopping by and stay inky my friends!

Holiday from the Heart Christmas Workshop

Album Retreat

I wanted to share this wonderful blog post by Kristine for the Album Retreat I just attended.  Below are photos of the album contest entry I did for the retreat.  I will be posting the directions and more pictures for the haunted house display once I get the project back from corporate.

A retreat to remember

Kristine here, with a deep thought: I've never understood the word "retreat," as is "Album Retreat." To me, the word has often meant to fall back, but every time I've attended a Close To My Heart Album Retreat, it feels like a giant step FORWARD. That's because when we retreat, we make great progress—creatively, and in our friendships, and yes, even in our purpose and goals for our future. Honestly!

Last weekend, the Close To My Heart Album Retreat brought together 200 friends to Salt Lake who immersed themselves in creative education, fabulous camaraderie, late-night adventures, soul-searching insights with presenter Stacy Julian, terrific food, and an all-around good time. And we all completed a gorgeous Artbooking-centric scrapbook album and mini-book to boot.

Here are a few photos from the event, from the ballroom full of happy scrappers, to the corporate staff, to the beautiful mini-album made by Tamra Pope that garnered first-place in our contest. It was such an extraordinary labor of love—right down to the cemetery and spooky tree—that we thought everyone might like to have a closer look at this terrific craftsmanship.

And while we don't have another Album Retreat in the upcoming schedule, there are SO many ways to "rediscover" your creative passion with Close To My Heart—the Holiday Gift Guide is in full swing, National Papercrafting Month is just around the corner in January, and of course, there's a brand new Idea Book coming in February. Lots of reasons to "retreat" into your craft room or with friends and make great progress on what brings you joy!

ProPlay Display Tray

I can't believe it was 6 months ago that I made this display tray as part of the Convention presentation.
I know I haven't posted much artwork in a while.  I'm still re-cooping, the shoulder is doing better.....and I'm happy to say that I am going to put on my Annual Christmas Workshop....with a little help from my friends.  Hip surgery is scheduled for November 6...so in the next few weeks I will design and prepare instructions...then I plan on having a cutting party with a few consultant friends in late November to put all the kits together.  I'll bed/recliner bound for several weeks. So I better get my creative cap on and get to it before then.
This project used Proplayer Paper, ProPlayer Asortments, ProPlayer My Stickease and some computer parts from my dad's office....I love found objects.
Here are some close ups.

Thanks for stopping by and stay inky my friends!
