December 2012 SOTM Blog Hop "Year Round Cheer"

Happy Holidays Everyone....I can hardly believe this year is almost over.....and what a fun, exciting and blessed year it has been!   This month will definitely be a busy one, that's for sure :)  So let's get started.....
If you are coming here from Krista Hershberger's Blog you're on the right path.....and if you get lost along the way, its easy to get back on track, just go to Helen Onulak's Blog for a full list of hoppers. We have an amazing group of 59 Consultant's participating this month!

Now, the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this set at convention, was to make an event calendar for a workshop....and that's exactly what I did.  The workshop is scheduled for Friday, January 18, 2013 at my house from 6:00 - 9:00.  Workshop fee $20.00.

And for the blog hop I decided to showcase the event calendar....and an invitation for my Christmas Party this year.  Do you remember Candy Grams?  In high school every holiday you could buy candy grams and have them sent to your friends....it was so fun to give and receive....so I thought, why not make candy grams as my party invitations this year.  And this is what I came up with.....
The back side of the tag will have the info about the party on it......I will be delivering these special goodies to all my friends early next week.....so you know what I'll be working on this weekend :)
Silver Glitter Glitz really made this project pop.
Silver, blue and white Sizzix candy fills the treat cups.
Can you see the stamp image from this SOTM in the invitation?  Its there....I promise....that's right the snow flakes stamped in twilight :)

A colorful Christmas

Ok, I've been out of commission for the past few days, actually today is day 6.  Last Wednesday morning I was pulling our 21 pound turkey out of the refrigerator and I threw out my back!  I'm still not quit sure how I made it to the doctor since I couldn't sit or walk....funny how the body will push you through the pain.  After 4 days in bed, I made it to the couch yesterday, and to my craft room for about 30 minutes to cut supplies to assemble while resting in my recliner.  This year we have added another Christmas tree to our holiday decor and I wanted to go to the other end of the spectrum with  this tree.  My usual decor is earth-tones and primitive decor.....so the new tree is done in bright blues, purples, pinks and greens.  This will be our friend tree with coordinating paper and gift tags too.
I love these tags.  I used the "Perfect Fit-Frames" (D1527); smoothy, pansy purple, indian corn blue
and black ink for stamping.
The snowmen in the stamp set "Flakey Friends" (C1506) are so adorable and the perfect image for tags.  Simply stamp the image, then punch it out with a 1 1/2 circle punch.  Snowflakes are from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  Color the images with coordinating makers, add some liquid glass and glitz glitter glue and your done.
The next few images are from my stash of stamps and are not CTMH....and this snowflake is actually a
punch by Martha Stewart.
A few more closeup are below.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by....and stay inky my friends.

Studio J on Paper

I've been out of the blogging world for a couple of weeks now getting ready for the Christmas Advent Calendar Workshop held last night.....first, thank you to all who attended and to those who purchased kits, you all ROCK!  This was one of my largest gatherings I've ever had, and it kept me busy and loving every minute of it.  Before the process began I started some layouts for my WOTG Classes which I haven't shared.
I luv Studio J from CTMH.....and what do I luv the most?  The layouts, so I thought I'd add a third layout to the WOTG Moonlight class (G1051).  That's right bringing Studio J to life through paper!  This layout can be found on page 55 of the Fall/Winter 2012 Idea Book.
There are a few changes, but the idea is the same, utilizing coordinating stamp sets and the WOTG kit together.  The pom-pom ribbon is from the green collection Z1616 and dyed with rite dye.  Amazing, you can dye the ribbon any color you want for any project :)
Moonlight Complements Dimensional Elements (X7161C) are used, hand stitching with black embroidery floss (Z1096).  The skeleton and Dracula are embossed with black pigment ink (Z2503) and clear embossing powder (Z821)
Here is an additional project made with some left over pieces and a chipboard piece I had laying around.  Not sure if you can see it, but the wall decor has black tulle (Z1798) around the edges.  Had a some more fun adding wiggly eyes to the skeleton.
Thanks for stopping by and remember......stay inky my friends.

Advent Workshops Still Available

That's right Christmas Advent Calendars are now available......I know I stepped outside of the box with my usual product line of strictly CTMH, but I couldn't resist, I have used the CTMH "My Creations Cubby" Z1804 for the base of this project and the newest Cricut cartridge exclusive to CTMH the "Artiste Collection" Z1790 .....along with CTMH "Kraft Cardstock" Z1375 for the boxes.....and the rest I have to say is an assortment of papers from other companies...
I'm a paper hoarder.....I luv paper, no matter who makes it, the only bad thing is I never get a chance to use it, and I decided to use these products for my upcoming Advent workshop on November 16, 2012 at 6:00 p.m.
Sign up today to reserve your spot.  Workshop fee is $30.00.  Pre-payment is needed no later than November 1st.
Kits are available for $37.95, which includes all pre-cut supplies, assembly directions, tax and shipping.  Kits will be available until December 1st.
Email me to reserve your spot or to pre-order a kit.
There will be a $10.00 teaching fee due at the Workshop of all attendees.
