Hi and thanks for stopping by today....I've been away from Frosted Designs Design Team Challenge for a little over 2 months now and I'm back, refreshed somewhat and healing each day. The auto accident in May set me back a bit, but I'm here today to show off some creative ways to use washi tape and twine. These two products together add that extra pop to any project. Make sure you take a few minutes and check out all the fun ideas this talented group of ladies came up with.
This project came together in less than 30 minutes and I must say my friend Rachel's daughter Abby is an amazingly beautiful girl to work with. She has this natural look that makes everything I create with her magical.
Here I've used washi tape and baker's twine to dress up this adorable little flip book on the display tray.
Again adding washi tape to the edge of the the paper strips to make a rosette. WOW, is all I can say about washi tape....I luv it...and its so new to me.
Each rosette is made utilizing washi tape.
Back in April I had the honor of being selected to be a guest presenter at Convention 2013 for Close To My Heart at the Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and I was privileged to get a sneak preview of the product lines coming out in August 2013. My challenge for this presentation was to show how to use the new accessories offered by CTMH. During Friday morning General Session I presented this wall hanging display tray using only new accessories from the upcoming Idea Book "Laughing Lola Complements Dimensional Elements", "Lagoon Washi Tape" and "Aqua Dots".
Background paper used is an exclusive color from the "Laughing Lola" paper packet "Laughing Lola Blue", then I stamped the swirl images using a new stamp set "Swirl Around"
When you are presented with a challenge there are so many interpretations, mine was to show how you could use mostly paper and accessories to create an amazing project and I kept that idea in mind during my creating.
This display tray is actually made to sit on a table top, but I wanted to hang it on the wall, so I purchased a picture hanging kit from the dollar store and glued it to the back of the frame. Next I added 2 pieces of foam tape stacked on top of each other behind each hinge. For a more stable frame I added the long pieces of arrow chipboard to the sides and that's how it all began.
