This week's challenge is all about doilies + sketch at Frosted Designs!
Here is the sketch we had to use for our project...ok....I've been paper crafting for 4 years now and I've never used a sketch...why you ask? Well I think I was a bit intimidated....not knowing if I could create something and follow along, I like to do my own thing...no boundaries :) and I know you've heard me say this before, but I don't scrapbook...so this sketch had me at "What can I do with this?" The cover for a mini album....that would work and so it began.
All products used are Close To My Heart with the exception of the chipboard mini album ($1 at Michael's!) and the binding rings (I think that's what you call them, first time binding an album too!). Product list will be shown at the end of this post :)
The paper used is Chantilly....I can''t get enough of this paper...I love all the bright cheerful colors. The flowers were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.
The doilies (actually a stamp set) are stamped with white daisy pigment ink, covered with white embossing powder and heat set. Then you're ready to cut and glue them on top of the album cover.
First set of pages.
This flower is so cute and how amazing is this coordinating fabric badge button?
Second set of pages.
This part flips up for journaling and a pocket is at the top for more of that too.
Third set of pages.
Fourth set of pages.
I made this book pretty simple...so I can go back and add more later. Not knowing who I'll give this to, I'll wait to add more embellishments and stuff. Although all the final touches haven't been added, it's pretty darn cute, if you ask me :)

Gorgeous album, and I love how you used the sketch for the cover. Very clever! waving hi from the rainy hills of North Carolina ♥ ( fellow DT member )
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! I also love how you used the sketch to design the cover. The fabric ribbon is a beautiful touch, too.
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow this album is gorgeous!!! I love the way you used the sketch for the cover. I am with you... sometimes sketches are difficult and my finished project rarely ends up looking like the sketch I started with!! You did a fabulous job with it!
