Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! I'm so glad to be back in the swing of things and back to the hop! This month's featured stamp of the month is "American Celebration", D1458. If you have come here from
Sara Harrington Blog, you are on the right path!
What a way to celebrate America with this banner I can place in my home each year. I started with this napkin in my home, I wanted to use this on my project, but it was too light of a material to use, so I went in a different direction.
First, I used our banner chip board and cut out each piece with bamboo cardstock. Then I stamped 4 with

the large star from the set with embossing ink and clear embossing powder, next I distressed each piece with outdoor denim.
For the remaining three pieces I stamped with a wood grain stamp using desert sand ink.
Using 12x2 inch stripes of paper, I stamped each piece with Barn Red ink with the Noted Backgrounds stamp set, scoring every 1/4 inch to create the medallion center.
Using this great alphabet stamp set "Token Alphabet" I stamped the word America to place on each banner piece.
Punch sizes used are 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, and 1 1/2 inch circle punches and a 2 inch scalloped circle punch.
Assembly of each medallion was made using our Foundry Bookplates to give it some sparkle.
Before adhering I stamped the wood grain pieces with other words to celebrate my patriotic spirit.
Not sure if any of you have the same problem as me, but I find it very hard to use only one stamp set to create a project. I find myself using many, many sets at one time. Check below to see all the sets I used.
Here are the products I used:
July SOTM " American Celebration" D1458
Hero Stamp Set D1474
Noted Backgrounds D1412
Card Chatter Birthday D1475
Wishing Star D1333
Token Alphabet E1020
Bamboo Cardstock 1301
Desert Sand Ink Z2118
Outdoor Denim Ink Z2140
Barn Red Ink Z2104
Foundry Bookplates Z1147
My Creations Banner Z1378
Now, until today, I did not own our Universal Backgrounds D1477, which should be used for the desert sand pieces, I actually used a wood grain stamp that I had.
Since I've been out of the loop for as while I decided to make another project using this months stamp set.
I found this wonderful
Uncle Sam on a website for coloring images for kids. I printed it on barn red, bamboo, desert sand and outdoor denim card stock and paper pieced this wonderful figure for this next project.
I found this great box at Target for a $1 and covered it with stamped cardstock.
Again, I used my wood grain stamp and stamped the outdoor denim, barn red and bamboo cardstock with Cocoa ink.
I found these great paint samples at Lowes that are textured and stamped the samples with Wishing Star stamp set with Cocoa ink, then stamping the smaller stars with the SOTM and created the layered effect. Then, stamping the flag from the SOTM in barn red and outdoor denim. Continuing with Wishing Star to create the clusters of stars.
For the fireworks I used outdoor denim embossing powder and cut out each piece, and stamped again with the Token Alphabet set and punches previously mentioned and layered.
Once done, adhere lollypop sticks colored with outdoor denim to the back of each stamped image and place in the box. For the stuffing, I used Easter basket stuffing, which was colored with desert sand ink in our spray pen.
