Snap Shots

Everyone could use a little pixie dust.....

Sherri Tozzi's Group...not quite sure why I'm not smiling here, oh, I think
I was starving at this point of the evening......?

Vintage Disney

Yep, that's me and Sherri in front of the Album entries!

And, Debbie and me with the Flamingo Gals Rock banner made by Annette Green to carry on the tradition of our group.  Yes, I did wear the pink feathers in my hair earlier that day!

Funny Sight

So here is your funny thought and image from Convention today.....What does a hotel do when a 1000 plus female CTMH consultants arrive at their hotel and bombard all the bathrooms every where?  Well check it out, they actually converted all the men's bathrooms to ladies.  Now, what I really want to know is where does Phil go?

Who comes up with these ideas?

A Special Day is Coming Soon

The Fourth of July weekend is always so special to me.  My dad's birthday is the 9th, and every year my entire family gets together for the holiday weekend and this year I got to spend extra time with my daddy.  Each year I contemplate on what to give the most important man in my life for his day and I always fall short on how to show him just how much I love him.

I've been in my room for the last two days, designing a personal gift of love.  Since, I don't officially celebrate his birthday until that day, I still have time to visit my local Micheal's to pick up this real cool scrapbook page holder I saw on Saturday morning that gave me the idea for this gift.  Its a framed box that you place your page in and hangs on the wall.  As soon as I'm done posting this, I'm off to the store.

Preparation, WOW, that's a lot of stuff to sort through.  All products used are BoBunny, Tim Holtz Collections, Ranger products and an assortment of beads, charms and ribbon.
If you asked what it is that I love the most about my craft room it has to be the open space.  When I designed this room I purposely wrapped the walls with cabinets and shelves to leave the center of the room open, now showing you my claustrophobic issue.......but, when I need that extra space for larger projects, I can bring out my trusty folding table and cover it with all those goodies I've been hording.

I found this sheet of stickers at a craft store in Orlando that I went to on Friday with my friend Annette.  What a fun store and a great ride over with a friend.  Its always fun to see what each other finds and what they are going to do with all their stuff, especially if its Tim's stuff!  If you click on the picture you can see the grunge board dies that I embossed and distressed with stickles.

Chunky charms, what??? I had never heard of them until a few months ago when my friend DiAnn entered in a swap.  Oh my, a new thing, another reason to buy more stuff, now letting you in on my shopaholic issue.....I was a little nervous about trying something new, along with doing a scrapbook page layout, but it was so much fun.  I have been collecting these trinkets and whatnot's and until now, had no idea what I was going to do with all this stuff.  I'm sure I will be doing more chunky charms soon!  Can you see the tiny little picture frame near the top of the chunky charm?  That's me on my tricycle.

I'm in heaven, Prima flowers, stickles, paint daubers, black and white photos and more.

I can't wait to get back from Micheal's and finish.  Now, I can only hope that I can wait until next weekend to give this to my daddy.

Back from Micheal's where I found this T-Shirt display box for $9.99 on sale 40% off, plus I had coupon for an additional 20% off, what a deal.

AMERICAN CELEBRATION JULY SOTM

Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! I'm so glad to be back in the swing of things and back to the hop! This month's featured stamp of the month is "American Celebration", D1458. If you have come here from Sara Harrington Blog, you are on the right path!

What a way to celebrate America with this banner I can place in my home each year. I started with this napkin in my home, I wanted to use this on my project, but it was too light of a material to use, so I went in a different direction.

First, I used our banner chip board and cut out each piece with bamboo cardstock.  Then I stamped 4 with
the large star from the set with embossing ink and clear embossing powder, next I distressed each piece with outdoor denim.

For the remaining three pieces I stamped with a wood grain stamp using desert sand ink.

Using 12x2 inch stripes of paper, I stamped each piece with Barn Red ink with the Noted Backgrounds stamp set, scoring every 1/4 inch to create the medallion center.

Using this great alphabet stamp set "Token Alphabet" I stamped the word America to place on each banner piece.

Punch sizes used are 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch, and 1 1/2 inch circle punches and a 2 inch scalloped circle punch.
Assembly of each medallion was made using our Foundry Bookplates to give it some sparkle.

Before adhering I stamped the wood grain pieces with other words to celebrate my patriotic spirit.

Not sure if any of you have the same problem as me, but I find it very hard to use only one stamp set to create a project.  I find myself using many, many sets at one time.  Check below to see all the sets I used.

Here are the products I used:

July SOTM " American Celebration" D1458
Hero Stamp Set D1474
Noted Backgrounds D1412
Card Chatter Birthday D1475
Wishing Star D1333
Token Alphabet E1020
Bamboo Cardstock 1301
Desert Sand Ink Z2118
Outdoor Denim Ink Z2140
Barn Red Ink Z2104
Foundry Bookplates Z1147
My Creations Banner Z1378

Now, until today, I did not own our Universal Backgrounds D1477, which should be used for the desert sand pieces, I actually used a wood grain stamp that I had.

Since I've been out of the loop for as while I decided to make another project using this months stamp set.
I found this wonderful Uncle Sam on a website for coloring images for kids.  I printed it on barn red, bamboo, desert sand and outdoor denim card stock and paper pieced this wonderful figure for this next project.

I found this great box at Target for a $1 and covered it with stamped cardstock.

Again, I used my wood grain stamp and stamped the outdoor denim, barn red and bamboo cardstock with Cocoa ink.

I found these great paint samples at Lowes that are textured and stamped the samples with Wishing Star stamp set with Cocoa ink, then stamping the smaller stars with the SOTM and created the layered effect.  Then, stamping the flag from the SOTM in barn red and outdoor denim.  Continuing with Wishing Star to create the clusters of stars.

For the fireworks I used outdoor denim embossing powder and cut out each piece, and stamped again with the Token Alphabet set and punches previously mentioned and layered.

Once done, adhere lollypop sticks colored with outdoor denim to the back of each stamped image and place in the box.  For the stuffing, I used Easter basket stuffing, which was colored with desert sand ink in our spray pen.
